Well there is some good news for all you Evoque lovers out there with slightly larger families, as it looks as though the Range Rover crossover will now be featuring seating for seven!
The “Evoque Plus” has been spotted on British roads in recent weeks wearing what looks like a stretched Evoque body and a fully mocked-up nose and radiator intake. Entry-level models will be powered by turbocharged versions of the four-cylinder Ingenium petrol and diesel engines, with the top-end models receiving an upgraded V6.
Last year, Land Rover design chief Gerry McGovern first hinted that the company was working on expanding the Range Rover brand with what he described as “incredibly luxurious, low-slung” Range Rovers.
The suggestion was that such a model would be geared more towards on-road performance but would still be capable of off road and cross-country driving thanks to a new height-adjustable air suspension system and a range of electronic traction control systems.
An EV version of the new Evoque is also expected to become Range Rover’s first full electric vehicle, as Jaguar Land Rover engineering chief Wolfgang Zeibart dropped a hint about the EV project last year when he spoke about the potential of a “pure electric vehicle.”
