The 2016 Invictus Games

The organizers of the 2016 Invictus Games have recently announced that Jaguar Land Rover will be the presenting partner for the 2016 Invictus Games that will be held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida from May 8th-12th, and will host 500 military athletes from across 15 nations.

In addition to providing financial backing for the games, JLR is also committed to helping former military service members transition into civilian careers, as well as providing work placement rehabilitation programs for injured service members.  Land Rover was the presenting partner for the 2014 Games in London, and with their pledge to once again support the Invictus Games, they have demonstrated a commitment to service members and veterans from all of the participating nations.

“Jaguar Land Rover is immensely proud to be the Presenting Partner of the 2016 Invictus Games here in the United States,” said Joe Eberhardt, President & CEO, Jaguar Land Rover, North America. “We strongly believe that there is a close alignment between our company’s values and the passionate, unstoppable, determination of armed forces veterans. Our goal, in partnership with the Invictus Organization, is to continue to inspire and encourage injured and wounded military personnel.”

The Invictus Games Orlando will bring together more than 500 competitors to compete in 10 sports: archery, cycling, indoor rowing, sitting volleyball, swimming, track and field, powerlifting, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, and wheelchair tennis.  The 2014 Games saw crowds of 65,000 cheer on over 400 competitors, as millions more tuned in to witness their achievements on television.  With the Orlando Games in 2016, the Invictus spirit will continue to spread internationally.
