Velar Takes on the Media

Land Rover Frisco is excited to announce the launch of the new Land Rover Range Rover Velar! The Range Rover Velar is the fourth member of the Range Rover family.

In order to properly introduce the Range Rover Velar to the people of North America, Land Rover has put together a marketing campaign. It kicks off with key media partnerships that coincide with the Range Rover Velar’s target customers’ “passion points” (for example, business, design, style, and technology). These partnerships include The Wall Street Journal, Robb Report, and Cool Hunting.

Land Rover is also entering a partnership with Conde Nast. This partnership aims to create a very real connection between their audience and the Range Rover Velar. As part of the partnership, the Range Rover Velar will be on display throughout the New Yorker Festival October 6 – 8. Conde Nast will also integrate the Range Rover Velar into videos that will be shown across digital channels for The New Yorker.

“We’re excited to expand the Range Rover family with the introduction of the new Range Rover Velar,” Kim McCullough, Jaguar Land Rover North America Vice President of Marketing, said. “The Range Rover Velar brings a new dimension of modernity, elegance, and technology to the Range Rover line-up and this campaign reflects many of our target buyer’s passion points in unique and compelling ways.”

Magazines such as Architectural Digest, Vogue, GQ, and WIRED are going to create custom content that will highlight design trends showcased throughout the Range Rover Velar and influenced its design. A 30-second television commercial has already been produced and will show on major networks and Hulu starting mid-September.

Other aspects of the marketing campaign include an advertisement in Times Square and “mobile ad placements through Verve.”

Jinsop Lee Evaluates New Velar

The new Range Rover Velar is going on the market soon! Land Rover Frisco can’t wait to share it with you. Recently, Land Rover had Design Thinking Consultant, Jinsop Lee, evaluate the new Range Rover Velar and give his take on its incredible design.

Jinsop Lee believes in a design approach that appeals to all five senses. He calls this way of evaluating design the “multisensory experience”.

When Jinsop Lee first met the new Range Rover Velar his initial reaction was that “the car has very handsome proportions” and he “could clearly see how much the designers had put into the details.”

Jinsop Lee described his way of approaching design by talking about sandwiches, “A great sandwich should have both hot ingredients and cold ingredients. Now another type of balance you’ll find in a great sandwich is when you bite into it. It’ll feel both crunchy, but the inside will be soft and moist, and all of these senses combined form to create a great sandwich.”

“When I first entered the Velar I noticed textures, feelings, and concepts that had been put together and balanced extremely well,” Jinsop Lee continued.

“So one of the great surprises was the steering wheel. Now of course I expected the steering wheel to be wrapped in something luxurious and soft, and it was. In the middle of that leather is a thin ring of metal, and visually it’s great because you can see something cold and hot in the middle of that plushness, but also, you can feel it. When you run your hands along the steering wheel in the middle of that comfort, the softness, you can feel a little bit of the cold of metal.”

“When you look at the overall design of the Range Rover Velar, you have this strong, proud exterior. You’ve got this high-tech interior that at the same time is cozy and welcoming, and it’s peaceful and quiet inside. You can really see that the Range Rover Velar was designed for the multisensory experience.”

Jaguar Land Rover Wins Car Design Awards

The Car Design Awards, hosted by Auto&Design magazine, specifically celebrate models and brands that they feel have contributed to the evolution of automobile design. A panel of journalists from all over the world choose winners in three different categories: Brand Design Language, Production Cars, and Concept Cars.

Jaguar Land Rover recently participated in the Turin Motor Show in Turin, Italy, where the Car Design Award ceremony took place. We at Land Rover Frisco are proud to announce Jaguar Land Rover took home two Car Design Awards. Land Rover won Best Brand Design Language, and Jaguar won the Concept Car category with the Jaguar I-PACE Concept.

The panel of judges deliberated and decided that the Land Rover design team had done the best job at interpreting a formal design language across the entire Land Rover family of vehicles. This was showcased most recently in the release of the new Land Rover Range Rover Velar. The Range Rover Velar’s incredible beauty, modernity, and showmanship are unrivaled.

“It’s great to be recognized for he hard work and creative endeavor of the whole Land Rover team,” Gerry McGovern, Land Rover Chief Design Office, said during is acceptance speech. “This is a true team effort and one that will continue the transformation of our business.”

The Jaguar I-PACE Concept is Jaguar’s first completely electric performance SUV. It is easy to see why it would win the Concept Car category. The Jaguar I-PACE Concept is a preview for the Jaguar I-PACE which is expected to be available for purchase in the second half of 2018.

In addition to winning the Best Brand Design Language category, Land Rover placed second in the Production Cars category with the Land Rover Range Rover Velar. The Range Rover Velar will go on sale later this year, starting at $49,900.

Ellie Goulding Debuts Range Rover Velar

The all-new Range Rover Velar has officially made its United States debut! The Range Rover Velar debuted at a live performance on April 11 by British pop superstar Elli Goulding at Hearst Plaza, Lincoln Center in New York. The show was set to reveal the all-new Range Rover Velar before it would be auctioned off at the East Side House Settlement Annual Gala later that week.

“I have always been a big Range Rover fan, and it was a pleasure to be a part of its launch here in the US,” Goulding said. “Even more rewarding to be supporting a local charity that improves over 10,000 lives every year in one of my favorite cities.”

The auction took place on April 13 before the start of the 2017 New York International Auto Show. It is only fitting that the all-new Range Rover Velar be auctioned off in New York since the New York-Metropolitan area is the world’s largest Range Rover market. The winner of the auction will be able to be one of the first customers to have an all-new Range Rover Velar delivered.

The benefactor of the proceeds from the gala is the East Side House Settlement. This non-profit organization serves the Bronx and north ManhattaLandn by providing social services and education. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC was proud to serve as the sole sponsor for the gala for the second time. In 2016, a First Edition Jaguar F-PACE was auctioned off for $101,000. Nearly $500,000 was raised to support the East Side House Settlement.

The all-new Range Rover Velar, and fourth member of the Range Rover family, was designed to fill the space between the Range Rover Evoque and Range Rover Sport. It is now available to be ordered and is expected to be available for deliveries to the United States late summer 2017.
