James Bond is back to his wild and crazy antics once again with Spectre, which is set to hit theaters nationwide next week. In the meantime, Jaguar Land Rover is here to take you behind the scenes with a look at the incredible vehicles from the movie, including the Land Rover Defender, Range Rover Sport SVR, and the Jaguar C-X75.
The Special Vehicle Operations team gives us a glimpse at the Austrian chase scene through the snow-covered mountains, featuring the Defender “Bigfoot” and Range Rover Sport SVR. The roads were icy and the action was fast, requiring the stunt drivers to use caution when speeding through the snowy terrain. The team used nine different cameras to create the scene, including one on a helicopter, one on the lead truck, and seven cameras placed on the ground to catch all the action.
Land Rover worked closely with the studio to provide vehicles that not only looked the part, but could handle the tough terrain while being pushed to the limits .The Jaguar C-X75 was also involved in a chase scene, but this time through the streets of Rome at night. The C-X75 needed to have perfect handling and driving dynamics to fit what the studio was asking for. They modified the vehicle to create the car shown in the movie, and after going through roughly 30 sets of tires during testing, it was ready to film.
The RR Sport SVR is the only vehicle in “Spectre” you can actually buy for yourself, and Land Rover Frisco in Frisco, Texas is here to help you with that purchase, should you feel the need to explore your potential espionage abilities.
