Land Rover Frisco in the heart of Frisco, Texas is proud to announce that we are gearing up for the adventure of a lifetime with the 25th Anniversary of the Great Divide!
In 1989 Land Rover embarked on an aspiring adventure to traverse the most demanding portion of the Continental Divide in Colorado. With the Rocky Mountains as the backdrop, a caravan of Range Rovers navigated their way along a route that took nearly two years to develop.
Now, to pay homage to this legendary adventure, a fleet of Range Rover vehicles will travel nearly 1,000 miles via unpaved roads from Denver to Telluride along the original Great Divide route. Throughout the expedition, participants will navigate narrow rocky trails with steep drop-offs and mountain passes using stock 2014 Range Rover vehicles with no special modifications, and will be guided by a handful of professional Land Rover Driving Instructors who will help them along the way. This epic journey is designed for both novice and avid off-road enthusiasts and is guaranteed to be a truly unforgettable experience.
“The story of Land Rover has long been written on mountain passes and remote trails,” said Kim McCullough, Brand Vice President of Land Rover North America. “By commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Great Divide and of Tread Lightly!, Land Rover reaffirms its continued commitment to off-road capability and environmental responsibility.”
If you would like to participate in the unique opportunity to navigate a Land Rover across some of the world’s most awe-inspiring landscapes over a ten day journey, starting on September 3rd and ending on the 12th, then please call Land Rover Frisco and we can see if we can find you a spot.
