Land Rover Frisco in Frisco, Texas is thrilled announce that Land Rover USA has joined forces with Virgin Atlantic!
The showcasing of Land Rover’s latest Discovery Vision Concept and the SpaceShipTwo, Virgin Atlantic’s scale model of their commercial spacecraft, was the perfect way to show off the new partnership. Both of these ultramodern machines were unveiled on the USS Intrepid, a sea, air and space museum in New York last April. The Discovery Vision Concept was also on display at the New York International Auto Show and completely stunned the crowds.
The concept Discovery responds to gestures to open doors and turn on/off the headlamps and indicators. This ultra sleek Land Rover can be transformed from its normal seven-seat layout to a six-seat, five-seat or even a four-seat one. A feature known as Remote Control Drive will allow for the driver to control the Discovery from outside the vehicle at low speeds. The fog lamps in the front emit a laser that enables the SUV to track objects that may come in the way during serious bouts of off-roading and display a contour map on the instrument cluster. This map can be used along with Land Rover’s new All-Terrain Coach guidance system which will plot a course through the terrain to assist the driver.
The Discovery Vision Concept styling is truly awe inspiring, with the front grille and headlamps mimicking that of the Evoque. The plastic black chin lends the front a buff look and the flared wheel arches add to the muscular appeal. Engine choices haven’t been fully revealed as of yet, but at the moment but we expect some plug-in hybrid options with a fuel saving V8 motor.
The partnership with Virgin Atlantic and Land Rover is a huge milestone for the Land Rover Brand, and all of us at Land Rover Frisco can’t wait to see what these two monsters will bring to the table in the coming years.
