The 11th Annual Victory Cup!

Victory Cup – presented by Black Stone USA – was an annual social event and fundraiser that Senator Greg Ball held during his time in office. Now that Greg has returned to the private sector, Victory Cup lives on as a private, for profit event and “The Best Party of the Summer”.

This event is being held, in part, as a fundraiser for two cherished not for profits:  The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Dell Children’s Medical Center. The Victory Cup has consistently grown in both New York and Austin, and approximately $25,000 was donated to various charities in 2015.

Get dressed up and come enjoy several polo matches and then watch the Derby on a huge Mobile LED Screen on the polo field!    This is not your typical uptight polo match.  Come ready to party and enjoy an amazing farm to table meal prepared by local chefs on the polo field.

Happy Birthday Your Majesty!

Land Rover Frisco is happy to announce that The British Emporium in Grapevine, Texas will be celebrating Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday and her historic landmark as Britain’s longest reigning monarch with two open house events!quuen

The first event will take place on Saturday, April 23 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., followed by the second event on Saturday, June 11 to coincide with royal celebrations being held in the UK. Refreshments and a sampling of traditional British foods will be served. Both events are free and open to the public.

Many royal celebrations are taking place to celebrate this special year for The Queen. The Queen celebrates two birthdays each year: her actual birthday on April 21 and her official birthday on a Saturday in June. Official birthday celebrations for British monarchs are often held in the summer, when there is a greater likelihood of good weather for the annual Birthday Parade, also known as Trooping the Colour. At this spectacular event, Her Majesty will be joined by other members of the Royal Family as a military parade moves between Buckingham Palace, The Mall and Horseguards’ Parade in London.

According to Sheela Kadam, “The Queen is a beloved and recognized figure around the world. Steadfast in her dedication and duty, she is an inspiration to us all. We join the British community in North Texas in wishing her a happy birthday, pay tribute to her long reign, and offer a place for expatriate Brits and local residents to come and celebrate this very special royal event with us at the most British spot in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.”queen2

For 24 years, The British Emporium has provided British groceries & gifts and hosted community-related events such as royal celebrations, car shows, Doctor Who parties, meet-and-greets with VIP visitors from Great Britain. Owned by Sheela Kadam, the store is a popular gathering place for expat Brits and Anglophiles alike.

Have you seen The Queen, met Her Majesty or been honored by her? Do you have something in common with her or have a story to tell?   Come and share your tales at The British Emporium!

The 13th Annual SCARR Event!

Well it looks like it’s that time of year again as Land Rover Frisco is gearing up for the 13th annual SCARR event to be held April 20th-24th at the Barnwell Mountain Recreational Area in Gilmer, Texas!scarr2

SCARR is an off-road event for any and all Land Rover enthusiasts and attracts people from all parts of the country to learn, practice, and improve their off-road skills.

Come enjoy the beautiful outdoors away from the city and learn about the off road capabilities of your Land Rover vehicle. Each year SCARR attendees enjoy good times with family and friends while meeting fellow Land Rover owners from around the country. Past attendees have come from all over the country as well as from England, Europe and South America.

Since the first event held in 2003, attendance has steadily grown over the years – 2015 brought 102 vehicles and over 210 attendees. Texas Rovers has reserved the entire park once again this year. Your registration fee includes: entrance to the park, primitive camping, 15 general raffle tickets and an event t-shirt, and two catered dinners. We believe this allows attendees to get the most “bang for your buck!” Some of our SCARR events will include daily trail runs, a driver’s challenge and activities for the kids.SCARRpic1

We are also excited to be welcoming back last year’s food truck! Richard Ross with R & J’s Concession travels all the way from Louisiana to offer up tasty breakfast and lunch items. They will be located at the main pavilion during the SCARR event.

For more information or to sign up for the upcoming 2016 SCARR event, feel free to contact Land Rover Frisco and we will happily assist.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Remembering Elephants

Land Rover and the Born Free Foundation have together announced their support of ‘Remembering Elephants’, a new conservation project that aims to raise awareness and funds for endangered Elephants.elephant

Started by wildlife photographer and conservationist Margo Raggett, 50 of the world’s leading wildlife photographers have donated their work to create a gorgeous book that will be sold to raise funds.  The book will be published in September 2016 and will represent a stand against poaching combining the most beautiful and captivating images of elephants in Africa.

Margot stated: “I’m over the moon that Land Rover has agreed to support the Remembering Elephants exhibition and couldn’t think of a more fitting sponsor. What started as a project on the back of an envelope between a few photography friends has now grown into something that will raise tens of thousands to protect elephants, a cause we all feel very passionate about. We need to remember elephants now, hence the title of what will be a stunning tribute to this beautiful species.”

The Remembering Elephants book will showcase 60 photographs documenting the journey of an elephant’s life, from birth to the final moments of death. All 60 images that feature in the book will be presented at the exhibition and sold to raise further proceeds that will go towards the cause.

The project reflects both Land Rover and the Born Free Foundation’s campaign to secure global sustainability, increase awareness, educate and improve the welfare of animals around the world. Land Rover will sponsor a public exhibition of the book’s photography at La Galleria, Pall Mall on 18th September 2016.eleph

Mark Cameron, Jaguar Land Rover Experiential Marketing Director, said “Land Rover has enjoyed a successful and rewarding partnership with the Born Free Foundation since 2002, this incredible project allows us to further cement our commitment to supporting the Foundation in their tireless fight against poachers and the protection of Elephants. The photography is emotive, and truly encapsulates the beauty of elephants. It is a project that Land Rover is proud to be a part of.”

An exhibition of the Remembering Elephants photography will launch on the 18th September and will run until 1st October at Pall Mall’s La Galleria, London.
