Land Rover has decided to unleash a massive fleet of 450 vehicles to support Rugby World Cup 2015 as part of its role as Official Vehicle Partner for the Tournament!
A mixed bag of decaled-up Discovery Sport, Discovery, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover models will provide transport for match officials, event support staff and VIPs for the duration of the 44-day competition, covering an anticipated total of 650,000 miles.
To celebrate its support of the event, Land Rover created a unique key for each of the 450 Land Rovers that are suspended in the shape of a rugby ball.
Land Rover, Fleet and Business General Manager Jon Wackett said: “We are proud and excited to be supporting Rugby World Cup 2015 as the tournament returns to the UK. Discovery Sport is the perfect vehicle to lead the fleet as its compact dimensions, flexible 5+2 seating and advanced connectivity features provide versatility and capability in equal measure.”
With 920 players and 1,100 staff members set to take part in the tournament, Land Rover could accommodate all 2,020 participants in only 289 Discovery Sport models thanks the premium compact SUV’s flexible 5+2 seating.
The Rugby World Cup 2015 will be watched by 2.3 million live spectators and attract a television audience of four billion in 200 countries around the globe, making it one of the biggest sporting events on the planet.
The Tournament begins on September 18th and the Final will be played at Twickenham Stadium in England on Saturday, October 31.

Also included are hill start assist and hill descent control systems.
Standard safety features on all 2016 Range Rover Evoques include antilock brakes, stability and traction control, trailer sway control, front side airbags, a driver knee airbag and side curtain airbags. Also standard are front and rear parking sensors and a rearview camera.
Optional safety equipment includes a blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, a 360-degree parking camera and a frontal collision warning system that can apply the brakes if it detects an imminent collision.
You can expect super fuel economy with 24 mpg combined (21 city/30 highway), which is better than average for a gas-powered small luxury crossover.

Land Rover has just launched ‘A Life Extraordinary’ – a global film project that focuses on pioneering people from around the world and the attributes that make them extraordinary.
The eight minute documentary is narrated by Dr. Brian R. Little, from the Department of Psychology, Cambridge and features stories from four individual talents: Xian Zhang, music director and conductor; Anouk Wipprecht, a leading fashion tech designer; Tom Lalampaa, award-winning conservationist; Victor Minibaev, double European diving champion.
Four individual films have also been created that share the personal stories of each pioneer through captivating interviews and intriguing insight from leading psychologist Dr. Little. Each film focuses on the significance of a decisive moment or performance that has informed the path of each pioneer and led them to their current position as a leader in their field.
